Just installed Service Pack 2 for Vista x64 bit on my main work machine. Took about 20 minutes to install through Windows Update. I normally avoid upgrading the service packs on Windows installs because through experience they are many times very unstable but this time I didn't really feel like reformatting and installing a slipstreamed copy of Vista again. Still this time the experience was very quick and all I had to do was replace my uxtheme.dll files after I finished installing the service pack to get my themes back up.

So I got a new computer....w00t

I didn't get any new hard drives but the rest of the setup is pretty much brand new.

So without further adieu,
Case: SILVERSTONE TJ09-B Black Aluminum (Mid Tower)
Motherboard: ASUS MAXIMUS FORMULA LGA 775 Intel X38 ATX Intel
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 775 Quad-Core
GPU: EVGA 512-P3-N865-AR GeForce 9600GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3
Memory: CORSAIR 4GB(2 x 2GEmotion: cool.gif 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Powersupply: CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX ATX12V V2.2 550W

So.... Q6600 with 2.4ghz per core x4
4GB of DDR2
9600 graphics card
Motherboard supports 6 SATA connections. 10 USB 2.0 connections. 2 Firewire. 2 Network Adapters. A built in 8.1 surround sound sound card.

I installed XP on it. I'll probably put Vista on it as well in a dual boot config so I can try out DX10. No real driver issues at all with XP.

So far I tried Half-Life 2 on full settings in 1600x1200 with FPS staying above 60 at all times. Though the PC did crash at one part (airboat helicopter fight). I assume this is a driver inconsistency and it happened more then once so I don't feel like trying it again till I see a new driver with a bug fix for the source engine. Call of Duty 4 and Bioshock also play really well on full settings. I have yet to try Crysis yet but I will.

I'll post some real pictures once I get my hands on a camera that doesn't suck. My 1.3megapixel camera phone doesn't do it justice.....
